It *never* rains

But it sure does torrential-typhoon.

Seems like it's a bad weekend, and it's only half-over.
Did some number-crunching.. new job doesn't pay enough to cover rent, food, car & insurance.
But will need car (and insurance) to get to said job come September.

Father's Day is coming up, tomorrow actually.. got an email from my dad.
He's got incurable, `manageable` cancer.

By 'manageable', the doctors mean `every 3 months or so we'll dose you with chemo and you should be good for a l'il while`.  It's something with his lymphocytes. So, basically, it's his blood & bone-marrow.
The research I've done on it says that basically everyone has this "disease", but only about 3% of adults over 40 are ever-so-effing-lucky that it becomes cancerous.

My grandmother on my mom's side of the family ...well, my understanding is that she didn't die from the cancer, but the chemo is what really precipitated the end.. what with how sick it can make you.
What kind of "cure" makes you so sick you can't fight the disease to begin with?

I wanted to do a piece of me kicking cancer in the ass.. but cancer has no ass.. it just IS an ass.
Healthy blood cells are kinda pink and sometimes have a white-core from the google-image searches that I've seen.. whereas the cancerous ones have dark purple/crimson spotting/clotting them.

And so.. from me to you, you motherfucking piece of shit disease:

Another night of no art

Sorry folks (all 3 of you who read this by mistake),

No art tonight.
Work pretty much wiped me out, and trying to unwind tonight has just made me sleepy.

Just another screen-cap of one of the many heroines I've made back when I played City of Heroes/Villains.
Hopefully Thursday will be better... but we'll see.

I don't recall the exact reason for making her.. but I love the costume.

So tired...

Okay.. the week before my new job started, I tried to get myself used to waking up early..and resetting my internal clock.

The good news is, I can still wake up 10 minutes before my alarm like I used to.
The bad news is, my body still wants to be doing things late at night.

So, while I should actually be trying to go to bed right now, I'm posting a new image up on the blog.
And once this is done, I should really make myself a lunch for tomorrow and then hit the sack like a pile of very tired bricks.

Found a new feature in The GIMP while looking for a general-selection/move tool : Ink.
So, figured I'd give it a try..and I am pleased with what waits below:

More Gimping about

So, I'm still working some kinks out of working with The Gimp, but so far, no complaints that'd make me go to another program.

Started a new job today - yay for working! Unfortunately, because I have to carpool, what should have been a basic 8-5 first day was actually a 7-7 day.Not fun.
And if I don't carpool??.. well, I don't have a job then. Not cool.

But like everything else, there's always kinks to iron-out in the beginning.

I don't know why I bothered to have Wolverine killing Dr.Strange, but that's what's come out tonight - and no, I have no clue about the many zany, bizarre and "cultish" signs, sigils & insignias on his cloak..I just made them all up.

2 posts in 1 night?!

Yep.. 2nd post tonight.

I know, it happens about as often as a Harvest Moon, and I'm not talking the awesome farming/life sim-series by.. Natsume?

Doodled out a lil batman, and figured I had to share:

GIMPy art

So.. that shed I was talking about yesterday?

It's up, roof's on, doors are in, it's built.
Still not the right door sags about 3-inches under the front gable...but it ain't my shed, and my roomy's dad just wanted it up. Maybe if he's really lucky, we'll get a couple days of really heavy rain and the ground underneath'll soak it up and it'll level itself off. (I made sure to force the guys working on it to leave at least 1/2inch channels between the stones for runoff)

Ran into a problem: aside from the completely ass-backwards instructions (build this, build that, put them aside. build this, install that, put it aside - uh can't put aside something you just installed - it's been installed!), one of the windows that's supposed to be caulked into place is also supposed to be removeable.
Honestly, the shed reminds me more of a very large kid's playhouse than a utility shed.
I wound up with some caulking on my fingers and thumb. Except it's not actually caulk. It's industrial-grade solvent to be used as caulking (essentially melting the tops of the acrylic window & the plastic shed and melding them together once it's dried).
So.. my drawing hand is tender. I followed the (useless) instructions on the `in case of contact with skin`.. soap & plenty of water just made the goop go from fingertips to fingers and palm.

Anyhow.. I wound up messing around in The GIMP today for a little bit.. still testing it out and just..yeah, aside from a couple of things, it's not too shabby. As soon as I can re-assign they keyboard shortcuts, I'll stop  auto-piloting into the wrong tool.
Here's a quick lil doodle I did while playing with some things in it:
